Corkystem passionvines are primarily grown for wildlife. Many animals eat their fruit and the vine is a Larval Host for Gulf Fritillary, Julia Heliconian and Zebra Heliconian butterflies.
It’s whitish, green inconspicuous flowers are pollinated by bees. This vine will remain evergreen in most of Florida. It looks wonderful grown on a trellis or it can be used as ground cover, as it reaches about 15’ long. It is somewhat tolerant of salt spray but not inundation of brackish waters.
This vine thrives in sandy or loamy soils, in full sun to part shade. It does well in moist to dry conditions and is drought tolerant once established.
